Goodbye Hip Hop Hangover, Hello GREAT things to come!

Today is the last Hip Hop Hangover for Unity Stamps. Angela is promising some great fun and changes starting September 17! The first challenge was to add doodling to your card. I added the words on the bottom. And you'll notice I once again was playing with my distress inks! I love them! The stamp was from Love Birdies and the paper is Daisy Bucket.

I made this card for the texture challenge. I used some Daisy Bucket paper with torn edges and added crystal effects on the paper. I added twine to the top and stamped hello using Just My Type alphabet. The Daisy Bucket papers are truly wonderful, great textured, two sided papers. On sale this month (15% off this month at A Walk Down Memory Lane).

And don't forget if you want the Unity store exclusive kit of the month check out Paper Maniac. I've seen it and it rocks! The August kit is on sale now! Sign up for auto ship and save 20%!

I made this for the Hip Hop Sponge It challenge (which I thought should have been called "sponge worthy"...Seinfeld anyone?). My studio time is almost always during naps; Button was sleeping so Bug and I went into the studio. I started out making a card, but Bug, my 3 year old, thought we needed to make puppets. So change of plans, and I made a cat using a paper bag, some punched circles for the eyes, cut a nose and ears and used my distress inks(which I am totally in love with, don't be surprised if you see them alot now!). The kitty got a collar, bling and a name tag stamped with the Unity Stamp Company "Just My Type" alphabet. To see more great projects today from fellow Unity addicts, hop on over to the Unity Blog.

A close up of Leon (Bug chose the name, which also happens to be the name of Grammy B's cat)

And don't forget, if you want to get you hands on the Unity Stamps Exclusive store kit for August, head on over to
Paper Maniac for a great deal on that, and save 20% when you sign up to have your kit autoshipped to you each month!

Don't forget about the GRAND OPENING on September 1! 15% off everything in the store!

More Daisy Bucket! (and some candy!!!)

Here's a quick layout I whipped up for the Orchid Soup challenge for Virtual Scrap Night(VSN) over on Split Coast Stampers (SCS). The challenge was to use a circle and a flower on your card or layout and the time limit was 45 minutes. I used some more of the awesome Daisy Bucket papers for this one. All Daisy Bucket is 15% off this month at A Walk Down Memory Lane. The sentiment is one of the Daisy Bucket Rub ons. I colored the staples I used with a brown Sharpie to match my page.

Here is a view with the little journaling tag pulled out.

Happy Hip Hoppin' Hangover!

This is the second card I made for the Unity Stamp Company guest designer challenge combined with the Etsy Inspired Challenge.Check out the store Vol25 if you want some great inspiration (Jessica also designs for Unity Stamps)! Thanks to my friend Katy for stamping me some images so I could play. The pear is from the July KOTM. I used 2 Daisy Bucket patterned papers from A Walk Down Memory Lane. If you haven't tried Daisy Bucket papers, they are just wonderful, 2 sided textured papers. My three embelishments are an acrylic circle frame, a stitched ribbon and a blingy flourish. I really love hot it turned out. It is one of my favorite cards thus far. And it won me a stamp set yesterday at hip hop!
If you want to see the complete list of Unity enthusiasts creations check out the Unity blog!

Below is my inspiration piece. I loved the purple and green color combo.

I made this next card for the Unity Wing It challenge. The requirement was to use an image with wings. I chose a butterfly from my faithful August '08 KOTM. The sentiment also came from that kit as well. I added some faux stitching and glitter to the butterfly.

Don't forget if you want to get the Unity Stamp Company exclusive store KOTM for August, 100% Happy. Check out yesterday's post for details. Have a GREAT weekend!

Happy Friday! It's been a busy week over in my neck of the woods. We were camping last weekend and got home Monday. On Tuesday I met up with some out of town family and we went thrift store shopping and out to Taco Bell (which the girls loved). Got some great bargains! Wednesday we cleaned up a bit from the camping chaos and yesterday we cleaned more then my cousin and I got to go thrifting without the kids (thank you grandmas!). I managed to sneak in a quick card for the Break out the Buttons challenge. I made the buttons using circle punches, they are silver and match the metallic feel of the card.
If you need stamps, head over to Unity Stamp Company this weekend! Everything is 30% off for the last time this summer, just use the discount code ENJOY. Check out the Unity blog for the list of HHH participants.

Thanks to my friend Katy for stamping me some fun images to color! I can't wait to use more of them. The flower is called patchwork petals. And the thanks was stamped using the Just my Type alphabet.
See Wednesday's post for details on how to enter the Etsy Inspired Challenge this week before noon PST.

All About Daisy Bucket!

Happy August! I am so excited to be featuring Daisy Bucket products this month for A Walk Down Memory Lane.
I made this 8x8 Layout using Diasy Bucket Bloomin' Paislies Captivating Keeli to cut the background bracket out of using my Silhouette. The "thank goodness" was cut on the Silhouette using the backside of Daisy Bucket Bloomin' Paislies Perfectly Piper. And I used the same, solid side as mats on the white folder. I added a tab and some bling to the folder, and some ricrac for texture. I am still debating a journaling spot but haven't decided if I want one. I can't say enough for the pretty Daisy Bucket papers, I can't wait to play with them more!

Here is the inside of the folder. I embossed some chipboard letters to make them white.

Button thought it was so funny that her one finger fit in her nose, we grabbed the camera. As soon as hubby put it back, she discovered her nose had two openings that both were finger size! So out came the camera again. She was just laughing and laughing.
