keeping busy! 1973 anyone?

So, fall was supposed to bring rountine and calm after our busy summer. In August things took an unexpected turn as we decided to move! We found this great place not too far from our current place that has all we need! It'll be a chaotic month but hopefully it will go smoothly. I have already purchased paint and primer for the walls of the upstairs. If anyone is free the weekend of October 10th, come over with your paintbrush! 17 gallons of paint and 6 gallons of primer are just waiting! Here's the catch, the house is stuck in 1973! The 2 car garage on the far right will be hubbys woodworking shop.

Here's our bedroom. That built-in will be coming out.

The kitchen will be getting a makeover hopefully next year.

Here's the studio...the most important room in the house! Notice the lovely gray paneling that is on all 4 walls. Pay special attention to the wallpapered closet. Even the closet ceiling got wallpapered.

A close up of the lovely print!

Patterned Paper and...what's that? Copics? WOOHOO!

Let's face it..."guy cards" are hard to make. I got this great stamp by DogGone Stamps and new it would fit the bill. I colored the fish and worm with sharpies and added some Broken China Distress ink to the background, ya know, like water. I also used the distress ink on the cardstock and patterned paper to tie it all together. The paper is imaginisce and I stitched it down after distressing it. I added dew drops in the corner. The base layer is fantastic, I love Bazzill!
All patterned paper is on sale over at Paper Maniac, check it out! And sign up for the newsletter to get notice of newsletter only specials! Oh and rumor has it Copics are coming to Paper Maniac in October (see me happy dancing?)!

I made this page for the Scripture Challenge 2009 that I found on Patter's blog. Don't worry, I'm not completely behind, I didn't come across it until later in the year ;). The stamp is Move Mountains by Unity Stamp Company. The base shape is a chipboard book I found at Big Lots (6 pages were only $1!). I am not sure yet how I will put them all together in book form so I haven't punched a hole. The patterned paper is Daisy Bucket and the ink is Tea Dye Distress. The flowers are from a de-constructed 4th of July Lei, I colored two of the white flowers with Distress Inks (Worn Lipstick and Orange Marmalade). The flower was inspired by this cute flower on Etsy. If you haven't checked out the Etsy Inspired Challenge, you must!

I got FLAIR! and a Scor-Pal Giveaway!

Introducing the first FRIENDS WITH FLAIR FRIDAY! Unity Stamp Company is featuring links to the blogs of some of their biggest fans. Check out the Unity Blog for the list of links. I made this card for the September KOTM contest. The challenge was to use the colors black, orange, green and purple. I used a black card base and stitched on 3 patterned papers using my sewing machine. I colored the bird image from the August '09 KOTM with sharpies and my Stampin' Up! markers. I cut it out and used pop dots to give it dimension. I also have a piece of black ribbon behind the image. In the lower corner I made faux buttons using matching Stampin' Up! cardstock and tied orange thread through the holes. I drew some stems to mimic the flowers in the stamped image. I love how it turned out. Thanks Katy for helping me out!

I hope you have a great long weekend! I am off inspecting my new house today! We are moving mid October!

Don't forget to check out the Etsy Inspired Birthday hop tomorrow. It all starts at Ashley's blog.
